Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. After a short rest, take an introductory city walk to see Sukhbaatar Square, the central gathering place surrounded by government buildings and monuments. Visit the Gandan Monastery, an active Buddhist temple where monks perform morning chants. In the afternoon, stop by the National Museum of Mongolia to learn about the country’s history and nomadic traditions. Overnight in Ulaanbaatar. Included meals: lunch, dinner
Overnight Train to Erdenet
Spend the morning visiting a few more local sites, such as Zaisan Memorial Hill for a view of the city or the Bogd Khan Palace Museum, former residence of Mongolia’s last king. In the evening, board the overnight train to Erdenet. The journey offers a glimpse into the Mongolian countryside as the train moves north through wide grasslands and small settlements. Erdenet to Bugat
Arrive in Erdenet early morning. After breakfast, prepare your bicycles and begin the first ride toward Bugat, a small settlement surrounded by open steppe. The route passes through grasslands where herders tend livestock. Set up camp near the outskirts of Bugat and enjoy dinner by the campfire. Overnight in tents. Bugat to Tal Tolgoi Well
Today’s ride follows a track that gradually climbs gentle hills and descends into valleys dotted with wildflowers. Stop at Tal Tolgoi Well, a water source used by nomads and their herds. Tal Tolgoi to Tuluugiin Pass
Cycle toward Tuluugiin Pass, where the landscape becomes more varied. You’ll pass through dry steppe and small patches of forest. Lunch will be a picnic along the way. Tuluugiin Pass to Khairkhan Mountain
After breakfast, ascend Tuluugiin Pass and enjoy a long ride across rolling terrain. The route continues toward Khairkhan Mountain, where pine forests begin to appear. In the evening, camp near a stream at the foot of the mountain. Overnight in tents. Included meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner
